In Memory of Emily Jeanette Garcia
taken from this life as a result of rape and murder. LITTLE BIRD
Hey, little bird, what happened here?
Somebody mean broke your wing,
You fluttered a bit when you were hit,
Now, little bird, you can't sing.
So tiny and frail - now, deadly pale,
What awful thing did you do?
Why were you knocked down ... and why ...
These terrible bruises on you?
Too young - too weak, you couldn't fight back,
Nor even protect your small self,
To cry did no good - nobody heard,
Nobody there who would help.
Broken, little body,
Limp and lifeless in my hands,
What evil monster touched you?
Help us try to understand.
Oh, in heaven you will fly again ,
And you will sing once more up there,
We just wanted to hear you here,
It isn't right - It isn't fair.
If I could take that monster,
And torture him upon a rack,
I surely would, my little bird,
If only that could bring you back.
We Love and Miss You So Much,
Your Family
