We, the parents of Louis James Hall, Jr., would like to share with you the tragedy that has taken Louis' life at the early and tender age of 18.
Louis was a very loving, giving and respectable young man who loved people and cared very deeply about the great gift of human life. His father and I suffered with Louis because he was manic depressive. His severe depression caused excessive crying, isolation, hallucinations and suicide attempts. Through his eyes there must have been a great deal of sadness and certainly confusion. When we were given Louis as gift from God, we were also blessed with the wisdom to know that our son's emotional problems ran deeper than what appeared on the surface. Louis' doctor, his father and I continually fought to keep his manic depression manageable. On July 11, 1994, Louis Hall, Jr. was brutally murdered, shot eight times, by four black males at the intersection of Duchamp and Woodfair in Houston, Texas. Today the case is still unsolved and we are desperately seeking justice. We respectfully ask any person reading this to please share any knowledge you may have about his murder. When criminals are not held accountable for their actions, you and your family become potential victims of a severe and violent crime. Louis was our only child and bearing the pain of his absence opften becomes overwhelming. But as I repeat to my husband daily, the loss of a child in such a brutal manner leaves behind untold agony and pain, forever. Not knowing exactly what happened and why will keep us in complete limbo until the truth is known and justice prevails. Please keep us in your prayers and always be aware of the criminals that control our streets. Keep your kids safe. We do not want another parent to suffer the relentless pain and agony we will continue to endure every second, every minute, every hour of every day, for the rest of our lives. To those of you who walk in our shoes, we wish you all the best. To those who have never suffered the loss of a loved one to violence, may it NEVER happen to you. Our most sincere thanks, Barbara & Louis Hall, Sr. |
