If you or someone you know is a victim of a violent crime, you should know, you have rights, you can get help, and you can work for positive change. For victim assistance click here to contact us.

What do we do?
- Provide direct assistance to victims of crime
- Assess the unmet needs of crime victims, develop or promote services to meet those needs
- Provide information and facilitate opportunities for self-education to empower crime victims to heal, work for positive change, and to help others;
- Represent and advance the interests of justice for crime victims in the State of Texas through advocacy in the areas of policy and legislation; and
- Advocate at all levels of the criminal justice system and judiciary on behalf of crime victims to insure that they are treated with dignity and respect and are afforded the rights available to them under the law.

A lasting Tribute to Victims of Crime
The TEJ Crime Victim Memorial Wall is displayed in the main foyer of the Montgomery County Courthouse in Conroe, Texas. It is comprised of beautiful 12"x15" walnut plaques - each containing 48 brass plates. Each brass plate measures 1"x2" on which to engrave the victim's name, date of birth and date of death. Victims of homicide, DWI crashes, manslaughter and other violent crimes resulting in their death in Texas are welcome to be included on the Memorial Wall.

Scholarships for Survivors of Homicide Victims
Texans for Equal Justice began the development of the Maybelle Bonin Mother-Child Survivors' Educational Scholarship Program in 1997. The motto and objective of this special program is to inspire "Hope For A Brighter Tomorrow". Since its birth, the Program has had the privilege of providing $30,000 in educational assistance to women and children whose lives have been dramatically impacted by the loss of a spouse or parent to homicide.
