The Texans for Equal Justice Crime Victim Memorial Wall was established in 1995 as a lasting tribute to those whose lives were taken by acts of violence in Texas. The Memorial Wall honors the memory of the lives of the victims represented on it and the special place they hold in the hearts of their family, friends and community. In no way is the Memorial Wall meant to sensationalize the violence that took them from us, but to remind others of the high cost of violent crime.
The TEJ Crime Victim Memorial Wall is displayed in the main foyer of the Montgomery County Courthouse, located at 300 N. Thompson Street in Conroe, Texas. It is comprised of beautiful 12"x15" walnut plaques - each containing 48 brass plates. Each brass plate measures 1"x2" on which to engrave the victim's name, date of birth and date of death. Victims of homicide, DWI crashes, manslaughter and other violent crimes resulting in their death in Texas are welcome to be included on the Memorial Wall.
