Protest Against Parole
Send letters, emails, or faxes protesting the parole of Johnny Ray Patton
Background
On 11-15-2002, Johnny Ray Patton was sentenced to 45 years for 2 convictions of Enhanced Burglary of a Habitation, 1 conviction of Burglary of A Habitation and 1 conviction of Assault on a Public Servant. He has numerous prior convictions for other burglaries and drugs for which the sentences have been discharged.
In 1986, Patton allegedly broke into the home of a young woman, raped her and threatened to kill her if she didn't stop screaming. A police report was made, evidence was taken and a rape kit was performed at the hospital. Unfortunately the rape kit was lost. In 2003, the rape kit was found and case re-opened. CODIS matched the DNA to Johnny Ray Patton, however, because the statute of limitations had run, Patton could not be prosecuted for this horrendous crime.

Dear Board Members:
Re: Johnny Ray Patton, TDCJ-ID# 01135013
As a concerned citizen, I am respectfully asking that you DO NOT GRANT PAROLE for Johnny Ray Patton, TDCJ-ID# 01135013. Patton's criminal history shows that he is a violent predator from whom society should be protected. Due to the statute of limitation in rape cases, Patten was never prosecuted for a 1986 rape that DNA proves he committed. Public safety demands that Patton be made to serve his full sentence. Justice for the victims in these cases can only be served by Patton spending every day allowable by law, behind bars.
Thank you for your consideration,
Sincerely,
(Your Name)
