On August 23, 1999, my daughter Shannon was tragically killed in a hit and run auto accident in Ft. Worth, Texas. This man left my daughter and a five year old boy laying on the payment to die. Although he did come forth the following day he has yet to be charged in this crime.

Shannon loved life and her daughter, Meghan, who is now 10 years old. Giving of herself in life, I know she is up above smiling down on all of those she left behind and knowing what a joy and comfort she was to all of us.

The poem below is just a small tribute to the daughter I love so much.

If Roses Grow in heaven If Roses grow in Heaven, Lord please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Daughter's arms and Tell her they're from me. Tell her I love her and miss her, and when she turns to smile, place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while. Because remembering her is easy, I do it every day, but there's an ache within my heart that will never go away.
