Gaile Lorene (Sniff) Skurlock

November 16, 1927 · June 13, 1974
Age: 46

Daughter of Phila (Brown)and Noel Sniff

It broke my heart to lose you
but you did not go alone
So much of me went with you
on the day that you went home

She was so real and unpretentious and had the rare gift of true understanding and tolerance of human nature. She was friendly and well liked by people from all walks of life. She had respect and consideration for everyone and a wonderful knack for making a person feel at ease. To those she loved she gave of her strength, comfort, wisdom, encouragement and support. Steadfast in her love and loyalty, she always managed to take time for a talk or to listen. She faced responsibilities and difficulties in life with remarkable courage and creative resolve. She was a warm and natural spiritual and emotional healer to all those fortunate enough to know her, and the world was a much better place with her in it.

Due to the incredible efforts of a handful of dedicated law enforcement professionals, her killer confessed to her brutal murder on July 27, 2001. Billy Joe Buster is now in custody awaiting trial, twenty-seven years later.

I love you Mom. Wherever I go, you shall also be.
